Kids Produce Market

The Food Bank RGV’s Kids Produce Market is a unique and innovative Food Bank RGV program that travels across the RGV to take fresh produce directly to elementary schools and provide children with the opportunity to pick out their own fruits and vegetables.
This program not only helps to alleviate food insecurity in communities, but also places a strong emphasis on nutrition education. Children will
learn about the importance of a healthy diet and the benefits of eating fresh produce, while also experiencing the joy of selecting their own food.
Currently the program serves 2,600 children and distributes an average of 18,200 pounds of fresh produce each month.

“I like the market because it is very fun and we can get food [that] makes you grow strong.”

-Moxie, 4
