The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley had its Inaugural Empty Bowls 2022 – Lower Valley Brownsville Edition on July 30th, 2022 at the Brownsville Market Square. Every $1 raised at this event will go to serve food-insecure
families, children, seniors, and veterans this summer. We featured some of the best restaurants in the Lower Valley, as well as drinks, raffles, and more. With the purchase of a ticket, each guest was able to choose a hand-painted, one-of-a-kind ceramic bowl painted by local artists and volunteers. The ceramic bowl serves as a reminder that there are still many “empty bowls” in the community that need help to be filled.
