Our Community. Our Stories. Our Impact.

Serving the Valley everyday in multiple ways.

Hunger touches lives every day in Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy counties—but together, we can change that. The Food Bank RGV provides millions of pounds of nourishing food and vital programs that support families, children, seniors, and schools across the Valley. Every meal shared is hope restored. Every gift, every volunteer, every action brings us closer to a community where no one goes hungry.

Behind Every Number is a Neighbor

“I was never afraid of hard work.”

“….right now we’re going through a rough patch.

“We have a lot of needs…but we don’t have the money to buy everything.”

Hope Lives Here: Nourishing the RGV.

Making an Impact, One Shift at a Time

Meet Mr. A. Villarreal, one of the many incredible volunteers who bring our mission to life.

A retired educator, Mr. Villarreal has seen the impact of hunger in the classroom and throughout our community. Now, he’s giving back in a new way—by volunteering his time at the Food Bank RGV. Over the past few weeks, he’s rolled up his sleeves and helped at different stations, making a real difference for families across the Valley.

His story is a reminder that every volunteer has the power to change lives. Whether it’s sorting food, packing boxes, or lending a smile, each act of service helps put meals on the table for neighbors who need them most.

Mr. Villarreal is just one of many volunteers who step up every day to fight hunger—and you can, too.
